WELCOME TO KARAI CRAB
A fun and spicy seafood restaurant!
From The Willows comes an exciting new experience in casual seafood dining – Karai Crab!
Opened September 21, 2012, in an intimate space ma kai of the main entrance to The Willows, Karai Crab – meaning “Spicy Crab” – has the same mission statement as its older sister restaurant: “To share aloha in a special gathering place creating lasting memories for all.”
The lasting memories are certain to include our delicious seafood and truly unique sauces, created by Executive Chef Miles Miyamoto, former Executive Chef of The Willows.
Although other crab restaurants have been popping up around town in recent months, General Manager Garret Kamei had envisioned Karai Crab years earlier after dining at a few on the mainland. He wanted to bring one to Honolulu, and knew that Chef Miyamoto could add his creative fusion skills to create new sauces that would take Karai Crab to the next level.
Karai Crab patrons will (1) Pick a seafood from 9 seafood choices and one vegetarian selection; then, (2) Select from among 6 delicious seasoning sauces – Garlic Butter, Cajun (over 20 ingredients in this bold delight!), Karai Combo (a perfect marriage of our Garlic Butter and Cajun Sauces), Tropical Habanero (karai flavors of Hawaii), Lemon Pepper (a zesty, karai sauce), and Court Bouillon (a flavorful, aromatic base for poaching all our seafood – let’s the true seafood flavor emerge); and next, (3) Pick your spice level (mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy); and, finally, (4) Enjoy!!!
Karai Crab also offers soft drinks, and domestic and imported beers.
Karai Crab is proud to be
